The Barn Owl (Tyto alba) is a medium-to-large owl with one of the widest global distributions, easily recognized by its heart-shaped facial disc and pale plumage. In North America, it inhabits farmlands, wetlands, and woodland edges, including protected areas such as Terra Nova in Metro Vancouver. Feeding mainly on small mammals, it relies on exceptional hearing to hunt in complete darkness. With its silent flight and nocturnal habits, the Barn Owl plays a vital role as a predator in the ecosystem.

仓鸮（Barn Owl，学名 Tyto alba）是一种分布极广的中大型猫头鹰，以心形面盘和浅色羽毛著称。在北美，它常栖息于农田、湿地与林缘地带，包括大温哥华地区的Terra Nova等自然保护区。草鸮主要以小型哺乳动物为食，凭借极其敏锐的听觉在黑暗中捕猎。其独特的无声飞行与幽静的夜间活动，使其成为生态系统中重要的夜行捕食者。
