Autumn in East Vancouver

In autumn, East Vancouver transforms into a vibrant mosaic of colors. Maple and ginkgo trees lining the streets shift from green to golden yellow, deep red, and fiery orange, bringing warmth and texture to the urban landscape. From quiet residential lanes to lively commercial avenues, fallen leaves blanket sidewalks and roads, creating a calm yet lively seasonal charm. Light rain often deepens the tones and adds a reflective sheen to the streets, filling the air with the scent of wood and autumn moisture. The mix of city life and natural beauty makes East Vancouver an ideal setting for capturing the essence of the season through photography.

Yinshan Talin

The Yinshan Talin (Silver Mountain Pagoda Forest) is located about 30 kilometers north of central Beijing in the Changping District, within the depths of what is known as Yinshan (also called “Tiebi Yinshan” – “iron wall silver mountain”). The name comes from the contrast of a dark, cliff-like hillside (iron wall) and the snow-white mountain slopes in winter (silver). This site was once the base of ancient Buddhist temples and monks. The pagoda forest now preserves numerous stone towers (pagodas) built from the Jin through the Qing dynasties, arranged closely in the mountain woodland with sober and graceful architecture.
