Animals in Vancouver (Western Painted Turtle)-Vol.04 温哥华动物 (西部画龟)

While walking along the shore of Burnaby Lake, I encountered a Pacific Coast Population of Western Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta bellii) laying eggs. Western Painted Turtles on the Pacific Coast of Canada are listed as "Endangered" on the Canadian Species at Risk Act (SARA); Red-listed species in British Columbia; Burnaby Lake is one of its important known habitats, with a dedicated conservation project.
