The American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) is one of North America’s largest birds, easily recognized by its massive orange bill and brilliant white plumage. Breeding primarily on inland lakes and prairies of Canada, these pelicans migrate south in autumn and occasionally stop over in places like Delta, British Columbia. Seeing a group of a dozen or more perched together on driftwood is a rare and striking sight. Known for their cooperative feeding behavior in shallow waters, they add a majestic presence to the region’s seasonal migration scene.

美洲白鹈鹕（American White Pelican，学名 Pelecanus erythrorhynchos）是北美体型最大的水鸟之一，以巨大的橙色喙和纯白羽毛著称。它们通常在加拿大草原和内陆湖泊繁殖，秋季迁徙途中会在卑诗省的三角洲（Delta）等地短暂停留。十余只白鹈鹕并立在浮木上的景象十分罕见而壮观，它们常以团队协作方式在浅水中围捕鱼群，是候鸟迁徙季节中令人难忘的景象之一。
